I listened in on this wonderful webinar. The panel was made up of many women that own internet businesses. Their businesses ranged from a scrapbook website to internet marketing gurus.
Their advice was simple to implement into your own candle making business. Their tactics were very down to earth and their tactics had to be money saving techniques because they did not have money to spend. Who’s is in the same boat?
Many of these ladies are/were single parents that have been able to quit their job to stay home with their kids and some are even homeschooling their kids. Their stories were an inspiration to me.
The Secret To Their Success:
The secret they had is that during their first year of internet business they put in 14-16 hrs days. They sacrificed quite a bit to get their business where they needed it to be. They did a lot of research in their market area, tested their websites sales copy ect, wrote content, drove traffic into their sites. The list goes on and on.
There is a lot involved, but in the long run the advantages outweighed the disadvantages. Now for the most part a lot of them are in maintenance mode which is about 5-10 hrs per week on the computer and then productivity mode which is about 25-30 hours/week on the computer. That would not include any product making if you make products.
Their secret was not any fast money making product, any short cut to make money. Their secret was just a lot of hardwork that pays off in the long run. That is what you want. You want a business that would last forever and ever.
Is it worth it? Definitely yes. I myself would have many days where I would put in loads of hours into my candle business. It probably would have went faster if I had DSL, but at that time dial-up was the only thing offered out here. After about a year my hardwork payed off and still is paying off. My candle mold business website is on the first page of google for certain keywords and my clientele and traffic to the site has grown.
Now I can spend quality time with the kids and run my business very comfortably. I love it.
