Give Your Customers What They Want

When I first started selling candles and products I felt bad about making suggestions on other candles and products customers may enjoy.  I let many customers walk away potentially giving their business to other entrepreneurs that were not bashful to suggest their products.

Do you fall into the category of apologetic selling?  Apologetic selling is a style of selling where you feel sorry or are afraid to make suggestions about your great products and potentially earn a sale from them.

Apologetic selling will get you nowhere fast.  You are afraid to make a sale.  You are afraid to suggest your great products because you do not want to “push your products” on them.  You keep you mouth shut on the very information that your loyal customers are looking for.

But the information you hold is exactly what your customer is looking for.  They are looking for a specific service, information and product provided by you.  They want to know about your products that you have out now and the ones that you have on the way.  Give them what they want!!

Get rid of that “I am so sorry to push my products on you” mindset.    Why did they buy from you in the first place?  Why did they subscribe to your newsletters, follow you on twitter, follow you on facebook?  Because they are interested in the very product, service and information  they received from you.

Why not give them what they want?  What do you have to lose?  Absolutely nothing.  You have everything to gain.  You gain the loyalty of your customers and subscribers.  Do not hold back.  If you customers are loving your products, send them more information on upcoming new products, sales, anything that relates to your target customer.

Not every newsletter, blog post, email has to be about a product you want to push.  If you are thinking that route of selling will burnout your customers, you are absolutely right.  Intertwine your emails, newsletters and blog post with helpful information, history behind products, a little bit about yourself.

Focus on the reason why your customers are loyal to you.  When you find your focus the relationship between you and your customers will come easy.

 Here is a perfect example.

I was following on twitter.com a famous Internet Marketing guru.  His niche was about driving traffic to your site.  Something I am definitely interested in.  I thought I would be receiving tidbits of traffic driving information even if it meant he was selling or promoting something.  I was okay with that because that was the specific information I was looking for from him.

All of his tweets were about the cars he had purchase and the vacations he went on.  I was not looking for that at all.  I was very disappointed and because of that I did not follow him anymore.

Do not let that be you.  Give your customers exactly what they are looking for.  When you do that they will be loyal for life.
