2008 Coming To A Fulfilling End

Okay everyone.  Today is the end of 2008 and tomorrow starts the beginning of 2009.  Are you ready?

How would you wrap 2008 up in a nut shell?  Would you like to hear about my 2008 nutshell?

I have been so blessed. I cannot even describe it. Yes, there have been many ups and downs, but I noticed that it is how you handle a situation as to how hard the situation actually hits you.

I would say the beginning of 2008 was rough on me. I had waited 3 years for the my divorce to be finalized and it was taking forever and a day for any lawyer meetings to take place. I was ready to move on in a big way.

My husband, Larry, and I actually had many wedding dates planned according to when we thought the divorce would go through. Our first date was February 27th in the Poconos. We planned on eloping.

That date fell through, but the divorce was in the works and we were waiting for papers to be written and signed. Our lawyer gave a date when paperwork would be done in March and so we planned another date April 1st. We just shoveled our Poconos dates around no problem.

Well, the lawyers word did not go through as planned and we had to cancel that date. I thought it was never going to end. I called the lawyer everyday and they finally gave me a date April 14th when the papers would be done. Again we shoveled the date and thank goodness again no problem.

Okay… Our next wedding date was set for April 22nd. By this time both of our families knew something was up. We had to spill our guts. They did not like the idea of us eloping. Larry and I talked about the possibility of having the wedding here. But that would mean we would have to change the date again.

Larry and I decided to talk to our pastor and I just told Larry that if our pastor won’t do our wedding up at Penn’s View before the end of May then we were going to elope.

We went to our pastor’s house and he agreed. -)

Our final wedding date was May 13th. What we had forgotten was that we made plans with the preacher out in the Poconos and we actually stood him up. I still cannot to this day believe I stood up a preacher. I felt horrible and made Larry call to tell him we were sorry. We had canceled with this guy 3 times. He probably thought  there was something wrong with us.

That is my 2008 in a nutshell. There are other things that have happened, but that one sticks out the most in my mind.  I will definitely say that I met my goal for my French Hill Country Silicone Candle & Soap Mold business.

Thank you for being a part of my business and life. I have enjoyed getting to know many of you.

Would love to hear your stories. Feel free to leave a comment.

Many Blessings,
Dawnaurora

P.S. Here is to a prosperous upcoming 2009.
