Are you hitting your target market?
Have you ever heard the expression “It is better to be a big fish in
a small pond that a small fish in a big pond”? This saying holds
true in the business world. It is better to have a unique and
focused quality of traffic instead of a large quantity of
unfocused traffic passing through. You do not want browsers. You
want biters. Sales increase with focused traffic. This focused
traffic is specifically searching out your product.
When I started my business I wanted to cater to everyone. I felt
that the more traffic I received the more sales I would make. That
concept does not hold true at all. That way of thinking spread my
efforts and energy thin. I couldn’t concentrate on any one thing.
I took it one draft at a time until I finally focused my target
market. Once I applied the concept I saw an increase in
monthly order and monthly subscribers.
Now with that in mind, what is the secret to reach focused traffic?
Grab a pen and a piece of paper. Have fun with this project. Give
your target market a name and write a short biography on them.
Once you answer the following questions, you can use your bio to
help
focus your newsletter articles, press releases, and even your
products on.
Here are the questions:
1. Age range?
2. Do they have kids?
3. Where do they shop?
4. The time of day they are most attentive?
5. Do they have animals?
6. Level of education?
7. Type of jobs they are drawn to?
8. What types of hobbies do they have?
9. Family life they lead?
10. Kinds of food do they like to eat?
11. What problems keep them up at night?
When you find your target market:
~ you have more energy
~ you’re not spread emotionally and financially thin
~ it is easier to show your customers how passionate your are about
your products or service
~ it is easier to get your customers excited about your products
or service
Don’t these attributes sound great? If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Hi,
I am constructing a Market Research Preparation for my Entrepreneurship class.
I need some information about a potential target market for soy candles in demographic and/ or behavior in secondary data. Do you know something about that?
Your answer will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
