Recently I wrote an article on what to get rid of from 2008 and keep for 2009. Were you able to make your list? What did you have to get rid of? What did you keep?
What do you do next?
The next step would be to start focusing your business energies on what counts the most to get your business moving forward. You may have to add some steps to your already busy schedule, but in the long run they will fine tune your business.
When I approach figuring out what to add to my business routine I ask the question ” what would get my business closer to my goal(s)?” The tasks I incorporate advance my business and are extremely relevant to my business. With each task I breakdown even more and prioritize what will get you to make profit the fastest.
Don’t fall into the trap of needing every ebook, internet marketing information, etc out there. You just wind up with products and reading material you don’t need and that just clutter up your space.
I may have mentioned before I have fallen into this trap of thinking I needed everything and if I did not need that product now I was going to in the near future. Wrong!! I wasted too much money and time tackling my business this way.
If you are working on learning about search engine optimization (SEO) just get information on exactly that. If you are learning about how to make swirl soap, get information on making swirl soap. Be very specific in your endeavour to prevent mental overload.
Here is a quick analogy video on focusing your business.
At this point I want to be the tender of one gigantic tree. My energies are better served this way in my business. I started applying this strategy August of last year and the results were positive and propelled my candle and soap silicone business forward.
I want that for all of you.
Okay I really haven’t approached the finer details of what to add to your business routine to propel it forward. It depends on what your goals are.
So, what are your goals? Here are some goal ideas that pertain to your business.
- Ranked on the first page of google for your keywords
- Gaining a certain # of newsletter subscribers within a specific timeframe
- Setting a certain $ goal per month
- Adding a certain # of new products or scents to your business per month
- Setting up a blog, etsy, ebay site
The list goes on and on.
Last year I did buy this audio ebook from Kelly McCausey. One of the many investments that I made, but this one sincerely spoke to me. It helped center my focus and cut out the noise from everything else.
Are you in a funk of where to start?
If you are wanting to really focus your business, but do not know where to start read all about Kelly’s offer.
