I have been doing a “major” review of my daily activities. I need to be the most productive that I possibly can in the least amount of time. The kids have off from school and that has greatly reduced my time to work on my French Hill Country business.
I feel busy 24/7,but I do not feel productive. The advancement towards my goals is a slow and tooth pulling process.
All of a sudden the word intentional keeps popping up. It has been slapping me in the face for the past month. It is screaming look at me ! Look at me!
So I decided to take a good look at being busy and intentional.
What does it mean to be busy? Here is a great quote about being busy.
Busyness rapes relationship. It substitutes shallow frenzy for deep friendship. It feeds ego, but starves the inner man. It cultivates progress that plows under priorities with good intentions.
The quote is a bit strong, but it drives the point. This quote of busyness states that busyness “plows under priorities with good intentions”. Busyness becomes very much a part of your daily routines that it starts to look like priorities when in fact it plows under our priorities. They are faux priorities.
Realize what is making you busy. Is it productive? Is it getting you closer to your business goals?
What does it mean to be intentional? Here is a great definition of intentional
done or made or performed with purpose and intent; “style…is more than the deliberate and designed creation”- Havelock Ellis
Intention has purpose. Intentions are deliberate actions that help you achieve your goal, your focus.
Re-evaluate your daily actions. Like right now I am typing out this post. I have twitter off and facebook off. (very difficult)
- Does this action have a purpose? Yes, to inform.
- Is this action deliberate? Yes, because I want to inform and help out.
- Does this action get me closer to my goal? Yes. It may not be a money making action, but it is an action that may uncover certain obstacles that we are going through together. It is an action that may help you out. That is my goal.
Here are some actions that may be keeping you busy:
1. Rechecking your email account
2. Rechecking your stats
3. “Browsing” forums without direction -They are a great source of blog topics if you know what you are looking for
4. Browsing around google
5. Reading others blog posts and not concentrating on your own
Again re-evaluate your daily actions and routines. Are they goal producing? The more we can fine tune our lives and make each step deliberate the more we will advance towards reaching our goals.
I have the word INTENTIONAL written on my white board. Try it out. It may help you stay on track.
Many Blessings,

DawnAurora,
What a great post! I am having such a hard time getting it
together lately. My vision is very big and I have a hard time
concentrating already, so I spin my wheels quite a bit.
I Intentionally Take This To Heart!
