I wanted to push my packaging skills to the next level. Well, I actually don’t have any packaging skills . So anything more than wrapping my silicone molds into nice clear plastic bags, writing a note on the receipt slip, placing the slip into the box was the next level. Nothing extraordinary.
I decided my molds are extraordinary. I wanted my package to stand out. So, I kept going over ideas to push my packaging abilities to the next level.
It took about 1 month before I found a solution. I started to put it into full swing at the beginning of summer. I had my oldest daughter, Oksana, come up with the design for a letter that had our business name, ownership and a picture of what my business does.
I wrote a little note on the inside of each letter and placed these into each one of my packages I mailed out. I wouldn’t hear back from the customers in a note, but they would come back for more molds. The point was to make my customers day. Not have them make my day. I wanted to provide an added touch to my service and I felt a quaint letter would be the way.
What had stamped this decision to make a letter for every package ( sometimes I missed a package when I got real busy) was I had received a package from a small business about 1 month ago. The package only had a receipt in it. I thought it would have been a great touch to get a letter from them. I definitely would visit their site more frequently.
I know at times that we can get very busy sending orders out, doing book work, kids, family and so on. Think of it this way they (your customer) have already bought from you. That means that most of your marketing ground work is done. Invest in the relationship you have already started with your customers.
Why work harder? Just work smarter?
P.S Tell me what you do to provide that added touch
