I love a layered colored look to some of my candles and tarts, but playing around with changing candle colors is daunting.
I always get my colors mixed up, end up spilling something, my work area is atrocious and so on. I am kind of a klutz in my work area.
Who else finds themselves in this predicament? If it is you then you may find this tip handy.
I knew if I didn’t come up with an easier way to change color in candles it would hold me back on creating fun candles and tarts. I had to come up with a better layering solution that would not leave me pulling my hair out in frustration.
I wanted to make these layered cupcakes especially for this harvest season the pumpkin cupcakes without the headache.

I use “used” enamel cups with handles to hold the various colors that I will use in my project. They easily fit into my double boiler. I can fit at least 4 cups in the double boiler if I had that many colors to change. The enamel cups are small efficient and easy to use. I don’t knock them over so easily and I am also recycling. They were once candles.
Because they are white I personally can gauge the intensity of the color. I am very bad on keeping my colors consistent.
You could say that is my tip for the day.
