There are many names for this candle wax ball of great scent. I have heard them called tarts, melts, melties and tart melts. Have you ever wondered where that name came from.
What exactly is a tart?
According to Wikipedia
is a pastry dish, usually sweet, that is a type of pie with an open top not covered with pastry. Sweetened fruit is arranged on pastry, often puff pastry, with or without custard, after which the tart is baked in an oven. The Tarte Tatin is a particular kind of “upside-down” tart, of apples, other fruit, or onions. Savoury varieties include German Zwiebelkuchen (Onion tart), or Swiss cheese tart made from Gruyere.
Does that really answer my question? No, so I typed in candle tarts and Yankee Candle Company came up. I did a little more research and found out that the candle tarts are trademarked by Yankee Candle Company.
I never knew that. And here it is.

So, will you call your fragrant candle chunks, melts? I think I like melties. What do you think? Or we could just come up with a new term like, I don’t know, chunkies.
I thought this was just interesting.
Now what chunkie am I going to put into my chunkie pot today. I am thinking a little bit of raspberry cream cupcake would do the trick.
Many Blessings,

P.S. What is in your chunkie pot?
