Now this is a quick tip to make pie crust candles. This is where you put a pie crust inside a jar, enamel mug, or even topping off a pie tart.

You don’t want the pie crust to look lifeless on top of the pie. Where the crust looks like it is sitting on top of wax. You want it to look like you have just baked that fresh from the oven pie.
This pie doesn’t require a gel topping. I have tried candle gel, but I don’t care to work with it. I will stick to my para-soy blend wax.
Materials you need for a “fresh from the oven” pie crust candle:
- A pie crust silicone mold – I used one of my molds for this.
- Cinnamon, cloves or a spice of choice
- Regular candle making material – wick wax, fragrance oil
- 2 wax pouring containers – one is for the main wax and one is for topping off the candle

1. Prepare your wax, enamel mug (what I am using)
2. Prepare the wax that you top off the candle with. This wax should be the color you want your candle top to be
3. Prepare your pie crust. I added some spice to the top

2. Pour your wax into your container until your are 1 inch away from the outer rim of the container

4. Allow the candle to cool
5. Take the wax you are going to top the candle off with and pour about an eighth of an inch of wax on top of the candle. Make sure the amount of wax that you put on top won’t exceed the height of the candle. If it does, wait for that wax to cool just a bit.
6. Take your pie crust and place the crust on top of the candle
7. The slushy wax will come up slightly in between the design of the crust giving a raised appearance

I topped off the top with some more sprinkled spice.
How do you work with your pies?
