I have been hinting around to start establishing your 2010 goals for this year. I have planned my yearly, monthly, weekly and daily goals for the past week. It has been so much fun. I am a goal maker. Making goals helps keep me focused and on track with my business. I enjoy progress and the challenges that present themselves when achieving my goals.
Where are you at in your goal planning? Do you need help planning your goals? What tools are you using to plan and help keep you on track?
Yes, I have end of the year financial goals and even monthly financial goals, but what about the tasks taken to reach your financial goals. We all know that we need to make plans to reach our on and offline goals. Since I work more online, I am going to start there.
Tasks to Achieving Our Goals Online:
- Drive Traffic To Your Blog or website
- Better rate of conversion between the amount of traffic and selling
- Have your newsletter and autoresponder in place
- Have a blog post outline and a post schedule
- Write articles for guest blogging or Ezine
- Find Other avenues to get your products out, for example, Etsy, Bonanzle , Ebay I do have Etsy goals planned out. ( I don’t know too much about Bonanzle, but I want to try it out in January)
A Plan To Achieve More Traffic:
These are my traffic statistics for this marketing site. I wish I could show you what they are for my silicone mold site, but when I changed my graphics I lost the script for gauging traffic stats.

These are November’s stats. I chose to put them up because December is not over. My marketing site is a little over 1 year old. My goal is to increase the amount of unique visitors to 5000 by June. I will be posting about my progress in the coming months.
Guest Blogging – I would like to schedule one or more guest blog posts a month. If you are interested in having me as a guest blogger email me at frenchhillcountry@hotmail.com. Put in the subject line “guest blog”.
Ezine Article – I already have my topic for each month listed. This is definitely a great way to get your website link out. Here is a website that will help you out with article writing Free Affiliate Articles.
Rank Well On Both Google and Yahoo – I want to strive to get great ranking on both google and yahoo. I do fair with google. I rank on page #1 for my keywords, but the ranking fluctuates from rank #1 to #4. I want my status for rank to be consistent.
- Tips to help me rank well for google – gain back links by guest blogging and doing ezine articles. Also, easy ways to gain backlinks are to comment on related blogs, facebook, and twitter to name a few.
- I have to work on yahoo. I am on the second page. It is time for me to rank in the top 4 spots.
Blog Post Frequency – I had posted awhile back about attempting to write one blog post a day. I received some feedback from other bloggers saying don’t stress yourself out about posting once a day. They post when a thought or idea hits them. Some of the bloggers were against “trying” to come up with new ideas and stressing themselves out about writing. They wanted posts to come naturally.
I am here to bunk that idea. That is fine and dandy when your blog is just for fun, but if you use your blog for business purposes you need to get out of the “post come naturally, comfort” zone. You need to be vigilant on coming up with creative ideas and ways to allow your readership to establish a relationship with you.
I have noticed a huge jump in traffic when I post once a day compared to when I post 12 times per month. If you do not feel up to the challenge of posting once a day, make sure that you post consistently. This is where you can pre-date or schedule your post. Instead of posting 3 posts in a row and then nothing for 1 week then posting 1 post and nothing for 4 days, spread the posts out every other day like Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Your readers enjoy consistency.
