Last year I did a recap on 2008 to see what worked and what didn’t work in my business. 2008 was a major turning point in my business. A grand major turning point. And this is why….
Prior to my divorce my drive to succeed in my business came from wanting to be financially free. After the kids and I moved on I lost my initial business drive. My business and I floundered. I didn’t have a clue why I was having so much trouble with my ambition to move my business forward.
Then my husband came along. He was and still is so supportive in what I do with my business. He likes to give me feedback, encouraging words, and calls the business “ours”. My drive came back. My drive turned from wanting to be financially free to wanting to please my husband and my customers because they both have faith in me and what I do. That meant the world to me.
This is what I had changed in 2008:

Now for 2009
This is what did not work for me in 2009
- I wasn’t consistent in writing blog posts
- My blog posts were not catering to my readership
- Not listening to my readership better
- Had a clustered website
- Not having consistent “live blogs”
- Better planning of sales and silicone mold seasons
- Better plan to make one time customers into repeat customers
What started to work for me in 2009
- I love developing wonderful friendships
- Use of social media – using properly and effectively in my business
- Starting to sell locally my candles – get a better understanding of what is going on locally
- Setting up live blogs
- Towards the end listening to my readership
- Making video blog posts
What worked for you in 2009? What did you change to propel your business forward? Was it better use of marketing, outsourcing, etc?
Many Blessings,
