Ultimate Guide To Soy Candle Making Review

by dawnaurora on March 26, 2010

guidetosoyThe first sentence that caught my eye was  not “The Ultimate Guide To Soy Candle Making”.  It was “From Hobby Enthusiasts To Business Professionals”.

The business professional title is the level I want my business to achieve.  I know that is exactly what you want for you soy candle making business.

This isn’t a book on “how to start a home based candle making business”.  (Here is the book for running a home based candle business)  It is a book focused on the very aspects of working with soy wax and soy wax candle recipes.

Are you  surfing the net, candle forums and blogs for all your soy candle making information only to find yourself overwhelmed with a ton of information that may or may not be the answer to your problems?  You still collect the information because down the road it might answer in a candle making problem.  If you are a novice soy candle maker, where do you start?  If you are a seasoned soy candle maker, how do you perfect your soy candle making skills?  Breakaway from the hobbyist feeling and start feeling like a business professional.

I mean, isn’t that the reason why you are opening a soy candle “business”. Right?!

This soy candle making  book explores the nitty gritty behind working with soy wax.  Jameel D. Nolan, the author, chatted and posted on candle forums and was frustrated with all the misguided information.  She funneled all of her research  into one book ” The Ultimate Guide To Soy Candle Making Review“.

By the time I bought the book I was completely frustrated with my soy wax journey.  Her book helped me layout a plan to tackle my soy candle making nightmares without having to search the web for hours trying to find the answers.

My own frustrations:

  • Where was the scent throw?
  • Where were the perfect tops and no frosting?
  • What are these strange mutant growths?

I knew there had to be an easier way to work with soy wax and that soy wasn’t as difficult as other candle makers say.

Who has come across this situation?  You ask questions about soy wax and some candle makers respond by saying they have done all the hard work in testing and that you need to start testing and not just ask for free advice.  What a complete let down.

Some soy wax candle makers don’t want to share their information because they have tested and done all the difficult foundational work on their soy wax recipes.  I have had it where a candle maker gave me very misguided information on soy wax.  I ended up with plain soy wax 415.  It didn’t do anything for me.  The funny part was is that she was using the same wax .  I tried her soy wax tarts and they behaved just like mine did.

Jameel D. Nolan did the research for you.  She has poured (no pun intended ;) ) out all of her tested information into her very easy to read and well written book.

One of my friends bought the book for her soy candle making business.  This is what she had to say when I asked her what she thought of the book:

I could have done with it when I started out.

Her statement was plain and simple. I didn’t have to ask for more feedback.  So, take a look at the book, Ultimate Guide To Soy Candle Making, and see if it the one for you.
Many Blessings,
Dawn

Thanks Jameel for the reply. It is a wonderful book that you put together. I do know where I would be without your book. I would still be in the testing and experimental stage. It has helped me cut to the chase without a lot of money going out the window. Thanks so much again.
