Another Wordless Wednesday coming to you. Welcome Jo-Cinda and her creative food candles. These food candles arrive fresh from the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.
A little about Jo-Cinda:
Wicks in the Sticks was born in 2009 out the need for a hobby, and a hope for an idea that could become a successful business. As with many other candle stories, it all began in the kitchen…but after pouring lots of wax (and making a big mess), I quickly took over a small spare room. I enjoyed making candles so much, ideas were coming faster than I could make them.
I began the online store in March, 2009. Before that, though, I was able to connect with a few shopkeepers in the area and was thrilled that they liked my “stuff”. My parents also have a small shop a couple of hours away, and I have a friend with a gift shop as well, and they have been great about wanting to offer my creations in their stores. I am thankful that it has been a successful beginning, and looks like there are more opportunities coming. My family has been so supportive and helpful during the first leg of this journey, they have really helped out with promoting my products and pitching in around the house so I can keep pouring. I hope this is only the beginning!
I have so much fun making candles, etc. that now I look at things and say, “Hey, I bet I could make that in wax!” I try pretty much any scent or creation that looks like fun and think people might enjoy, from primitive and bakery/dessert items, to jars and tarts, to rustic and lodge type candles. It’s great to find something to do that is productive in so many ways, and can bring even a small amount of light and joy into other people’s lives.
Many Blessings,
P.S. Would love to hear your comments. Leave them below.
