Our First Camping Trip Of 2010

by dawnaurora on June 14, 2010

I am telling you, this trip was so needed.  How many of you are at your wits end and need a break?  If you are, I highly suggest you  take one.  Don’t wait.

I never hit the crossroads of whether or not to continue the business.  I did that 5 years ago, but I was hitting a creative, and business focus plateau.  The things about my business that excited me every morning when I woke up were stale, leaving me to fumble along at a slow, unfocused paced.

I knew I needed this vacation, but I didn’t realize how badly my business was hurting because I wasn’t taking it.

This is how I spent most of the mini camping trip.  I took the kids swimming and on wagon rides.  I finally finished knitting my sweater.  I sat around watching the kids and my wonderful husband play.  We also played Bible Trivia and roasted smores at night.

I bonded with the kids like I have never before.  It was great.   No thinking about my business loose ends, to-do list and areas I needed to iron out.

My little guy fell asleep in his boat.

My troubles were tucked away in a remote area of my mind.  I knew full well they would visit when my vacation was done, but I could call them troubles anymore.  They were small obstacles that wanted to divert my attention away from my  larger business goals.

Take a break every once in awhile.  Recharge those batteries.  During these times of rest you may come up with an idea that would propel your business to the next level.

Many Blessings,

P.S. How do you recharge your batteries?
