Yes, I am already preparing for 2012. I always get excited about planning for the new year. I have a 2012 folder, graphs, marketing plan, blog post and new product schedule laid out. My focus besides my mission statement (which I look at every week) is to run a tighter ship.
I am a huge, gigantic planner. I love to plan. But then when I plan big I freeze up.
Go figure.
This year I am going to focus on making sure that every aspect of my plan has an easy action step for it. I want to be able to take action for all my goals.
I have broken it down to a yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly and even daily goals. Yes, this requires lots of writing, but you can make your goals fit your plans. What is great is that you are your own boss and you get to call the shots. You understand what is best for your business.
Since it is SO easy for me to get derailed, I am making my goals very detailed. This plan makes a great reference and actually puts me at peace.
I am actually tired of getting derailed. It causes a lot of stress, wasted time and money. I also end up missing potential opportunities.
I also don’t feel like waiting for the economy to take an “upturn”. Honestly, I don’t like to put any weight on the economy. There are needs and someone needs to meet those needs. Let it be you and me. Let’s start taking your business forward. Make wise decisions and choices. Every ounce of energy spent in your business should be spent advancing it.
I think the biggest change that I have done this autumn is scheduling regular business hours. That little step alone has reduced a lot of stress.
Have you planned your 2012 yet? What are you waiting for? If you have, what are some of the things you have done?
